Education Alternatives in Raleigh NC

Public education in Raleigh is provided by the Wake County Public School System. There are 147 schools in the system, and over 128,000 students. the school system is compiled of 93 elementary schools, 28 middle schools, 22 high schools, and 4 special/optional schools, Raleigh also has 17 separate, private schools in the area.

North Carolina State University also makes its home in Raleigh, as well as the famous "Tobacco Road" schools, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina are roughly 25 minutes away. Wake Forest University used to be just outside the city of Raleigh, however, has relocated roughly an hour drive away to Winston-Salem.
